Well Christmas 2015 is now in the memory books. For me the preparation begins about mid October-hence no posts since then. With 14 in our family now there’s definitely a lot of planning that goes on behind the scenes. I try to make the day as special as possible with as many personal touches as humanly possible. Just like most folks!
Today would have been my mom’s 82nd birthday. I’m always intrigued to watch other families who still have their parents. Since my mom left us at the young age of 61 I can only try to imagine how different my life would be today were she still with us. My love of entertaining and making Christmas special was a gift to me from my mom. I learned much of what I do for parties from her. And of course years of trial and error.
The day after Christmas was another special day for many in my daughter-in-law Liz’s family for her cousin Heather chose to get married that day. You see her grandfather, Harold, has been in declining health for a couple of years now. He wished for 2 things before he dies. See his grandson get married and walk his granddaughter down the aisle on her wedding day. With Harold now in Hospice his sweet granddaughter Heather and her fiance Aaron chose to move up their wedding day. It was a small ceremony with about 4o people in attendance. I was so honored to be asked by Liz to help with the decorating. And also thankful that my daughter Elizabeth came with me to help get everything set up.
Hopefully it won’t be so long until my next post. Until then here a just a few of the hundreds of photos taken!
